EcoClub 360 proudly participated in the 70th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70), held from 9 – 19 March 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, United States of America. The session brought together global stakeholders and featured a series of high-level side events focused on advancing gender equality and the rights of women and girls.
Convened by UN Women under the priority theme, “Ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls, including by promoting inclusive and equitable legal systems, eliminating discriminatory laws, policies, and practices, and addressing structural barriers”, CSW70 provided a critical platform for dialogue and collaboration. Discussions emphasized the importance of promoting inclusive and equitable legal systems, eliminating discriminatory laws, and addressing structural barriers that hinder the full realization of women’s rights. Participants included representatives from Member States, United Nations agencies, and ECOSOC- accredited non-governmental organizations from across the globe.
Key highlights from the session included conversations on combating digital violence, strengthening legal protections against trafficking, advancing women’s economic empowerment, and improving access to education, resources, and opportunities for women and girls. Ghana was represented by the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, who reaffirmed the country’s commitment to gender equality through policy frameworks such as the Affirmative Action (Gender Equity) Act, National Gender Policy, Social Protection Act, Cyber Security Act, Land Act, and Environmental Protection Act.
EcoClub 360’s participation at CSW70 reflects our strong alignment with these global priorities. We recognize that sustainable development cannot be achieved without the full inclusion and empowerment of women – particularly in environmental stewardship and climate action. This milestone reinforces our commitment to advancing sustainable development at the intersection of gender equality and climate justice, while promoting equity, inclusion, and dignity for all.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our partners, communities, and supporters whose continued belief in our work makes achievements like this possible.
